2017 SAEE Conference: Empowering the Arts

Educators, artists, program directors, students, and the curious are invited to Empowering the Arts-- the fourth national meeting dedicated to arts entrepreneurship education. This conference will provide participants with opportunities to explore the intersections of business, the arts, and other disciplines in ways that enhance the teaching and learning of artistic enterprise. The Society's inclusive atmosphere enables all participants to connect with colleagues concerning pedagogical methods and larger currents in the field.
Call for Proposals
Session proposals should connect to one of the four conference tracks:
- Empowering the Arts: Cultural Leadership through Entrepreneurship
- Empowering the Arts: Arts Entrepreneurs in the Professional World
- Empowering the Arts: Students Share their Stories
- Empowering the Arts: Next Steps in the Academy
Proposals combining elements of multiple tracks are also encouraged. The Society hopes to attract submissions from an array of contributors: faculty, staff, undergraduates, graduate students, working artists, community leaders, and anyone willing to share their experiences as an arts entrepreneur. Review of proposals begins on August 1 and notification will be sent by August 20. Proposals should include a description of the topic and corresponding conference track, format (paper presentation, interactive workshop, performance, panel discussion, or alternative format), any technology requirements, and a 250-word abstract.
*Please be sure to note in your abstract whether your presentation will fit a 30, 45, or 60 minute time slot.
